J IS FOR JONATHAN BRANDON, HERO OF MORGAN O'NEILL'S THE THORNLESS ROSE

I'm so thrilled to have back on my blog two great friends and amazing authors, Cary Morgan and Deborah O'Neil Cordes. I'm turning the letter J from the #AtoZChallenge as well as this post over to them. Cary and Deborah, thank you so much for stopping by today and have a great time with the letter J!

J is for Jonathan Brandon, the time traveling hero of Morgan O'Neill's, THE THORNLESS ROSE, an ELIZABETHAN TIME TRAVEL NOVEL. 

We, co-authors Cary Morgan Frates and Deborah O'Neill Cordes, sometimes find it difficult to meld our individual writing into a cohesive whole, but with the creation of Jonathan things fell into place rather swiftly. Tall, smart, and handsome—the good doctor has it all! But we'll let someone else have a say, and this reviewer's take on our hero sums things up nicely:

Here are some tidbits about our hero that even our heroine, Anne, doesn't know:

1. Jonathan tells the Elizabethans he studied medicine "in the East" as a cover story. They assume he means the Orient, but he actually got his degree from Cambridge and finished his medical training in a teaching hospital in the East End of London.

2. Boxers or briefs? Neither. In 1945, Jonathan served as a flight surgeon in the Royal Air Force. He wore RAF issued, knee-length, wool underpants. Itchy! When Anne meets him in 1560 London, those beauties are gone. But does he go commando? We're not telling what he wears under his tights, but Anne might spill the beans in an upcoming scene!

3. Despite being severely injured, Jonathan saved a man's life when their field hospital was bombed by the Germans. He was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, which he was wearing when he time traveled. The cross was made of pure silver and valuable. What became of it? We'll answer that question fully in the sequel, Ever Crave the Rose, which will be the third book in our series. Hint—it helps save his life.
