WELCOME BECKY FLADE AND GODDESS OF THE HUNT

Happy Friday, Everyone!

I have with me today my friend and amazing author, Becky Flade. Since Becky's novel, Goddess of the Hunt is on sale at Amazon for only 99 cents, I thought I would have her on to share the news as well as help us all get to know Becky a little better--meet the woman behind the stories.

Becky, I’m so thrilled to have you here today.

Becky: Nancy thank you so much for having me today, sweetheart. I just love your Shadow series and I’m having a total fan-girl moment being on your blog!

Why thank you! That was such a sweet thing to say. I'm so glad you have enjoyed my wonderful McNeil brothers. As for being a fan-girl, right back at you, girlfriend!!! So, tell me, when did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

Becky: There wasn’t really a moment of realization thing. I just was. My mom said even as a toddler I’d walk around chatting, playing out the little scenes in my head, correcting them and doing them over until I was satisfied. Then in kindergarten I asked my teacher to help me make my first book. My mom still has it. But I guess that was when everyone knew it was writer and not actor.

What do you like best about being a writer? What do you like the least?

Becky: I love everything about it, but best thing is when someone reads it and sees it the way I did, or feels what I did, that’s just about the most perfect thing in the world. And what I like the least is when I can’t get what I see and feel to come across just right on to the page. That is the single most frustrating sensation that is almost impossible to describe.

OH, how I can relate. I get this silly grin on my face when someone tells me how much they enjoyed one of my stories. I think it's because our stories are so much a part of us. And that feeling of not quite hitting the mark can be so totally frustrating. I can spend hours on one paragraph because it just isn't right.

Here an interesting question I would love to know about you. How do you think your life experiences have prepared you for a writing career?

Becky: They haven’t [laugh]. You have to be prepared to suffer mounds of rejection in exchange for tiny little bits of modest success that will be peppered with nasty criticism, carelessly thrown comments that sting like sharp barbs, and then when you least expect it, a shiny moment of perfection. There is nothing in life that can prepare you for that. Isn’t it fucking great? ;)

Yes....it sure is! And you described our world perfectly! If you had one take away piece of advice for authors, what would it be?

Becky: Never ever read a review. Which of course means you’ll do the exact opposite and agonize over them, so make sure you have a fantastic support structure in place – both inside and outside the home/industry. It’s crucial.

Great advice. It is wonderful having people like you in my corner to give perspective. What genre(s) do you write in? Why?

Becky: Romance. Erotica. Horror. Noir. Suspense. Paranormal. And Young Adult, under a penname I refuse to divulge. Because, so far, those are the stories I’ve come up with.

Tells us about Goddess of the Hunt. That is one spoken' hot cover, my friend.

Becky: Goddess is an erotic spy thriller that is currently on sale at Amazon and also up for its first award as best erotic book of the year.

I have to interrupt here for a moment and say CONGRATULATIONS!!! THAT IS AWESOME.

Becky: But what makes it truly unique, in my opinion, is that the lead character, the love ‘em and leave ‘em James-Bond-esque character, is a woman. She’s CIA, educated, intelligent and deadly which she hides beneath her tan, blond, youthful exterior while kicking ass and breaking hearts all over Europe. In Hunt, she’s paired up with an undercover MI-6 operative to infiltrate a terrorist cell in Dublin, Ireland. And, well, it’s not billed as erotica for nothing. ;)

It's an exciting ride for sure! So, fun question. What is the theme song to this book?

Becky: There isn’t just one song. I listened to a lot of Myles Kennedy and the Beatles.

I got to get out of here. I’ve got a ton to do today –it’s Halloween! Thank you so much for having me, Nancy!

Oh, it was my pleasure, Becky. I'm so glad you had time to drop by for a quick visit. I  hope Goddess of the Hunt is a huge success for you. Please don't be a stranger.

Here is a short blurb for Goddess of the Hun:

Codename Diana
CIA field agent Paige Aster hides a cunning intelligence and lethal skill behind a mask of golden beauty. It serves her well as she moves from one undercover assignment to the next.
Current Mission
Retrieve a stolen United States military defense program from a terrorist cell in Dublin, Ireland, before they trade it to Islamic extremists in exchange for munitions. Her only back up on this time-sensitive mission is a deeply embedded MI-6 operative.
Her Asset
Eoin Fitzpatrick has sacrificed everyone he holds dear to bring these terrorists to justice. He’ll sacrifice Diana, too, if she threatens to compromise his mission or his cover. He has orders to do just that – his agency is only doing hers a favor.
Compromised or Comprising?

Paige expects danger, but welcomes passion—taking her pleasure where and when it’s offered. She’s not prepared for the effect Eoin has on her. Or what happens when she surrenders to him—Paige burns for Eoin but will he leave her burned…

Becky also left behind a short excerpt. Enjoy!

“Is it done? Do you and the others in the house bring in sex partners from time to time?” She straightened and stared at him.
“Yes.” He hissed the answer.
“I’m travelling; you and I meet at a pub and go to your place to hook up. It’s simple and happens all the time. Believable, even.” She thought of Michel and her lips tilted at the corners. Then, casting her eyes over Eoin, she deliberately arched a brow and tucked her tongue in her cheek. “Well, for most people, anyway.”
His lips thinned and the muscles in his cheek ticked as he worked to control the flare of temper. It delighted her. “Fine, we’ll do it your way.” Eoin pushed himself from the chair he’d been perched on and nearly charged for the door. “I’ll be here at seven-thirty tomorrow morning, be ready.”
Paige grabbed his arm as he passed her. “What are you so worked up about? If it goes wrong, you can just leave me hanging and you know it. This costs you nothing, Paddy-boy; it’s my ass on the line.”
He grabbed her shirt and pushed her against the closet door. She didn’t fight it and he had his mouth on her in seconds. His tongue delved and demanded she respond; she arched up into the kiss. Delight, desire, and anger thrummed through her as she both succumbed and made demands of her own. His hands molded to her hips and pinned her between the hard planes of his body and the wall behind her. Then he abruptly pulled away. They stood inches apart; the air crackled around them. Their gazes locked. He opened his mouth, then shook his head and left without a word.

       Tie score.

Here is what they are saying about Goddess of the Hunt

There's a great plot line, an interesting twist to the story, and I think although it's not a cliffhanger you'll be left wanting more…Kinky Book Klub

WELCOME MORGAN O'NEILL AND THE TIME TRAVELING ROMANCE SERIES

Happy Friday, everyone!

I hope you had a great week and are gearing up for a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Today, I'm honored to have back on my blog a fantastic writing duo, Deborah O'Neill Cordes and Cary Morgan Frates, who write as Morgan O'Neil.

Deborah and Cary have dropped by to introduce you to their re-release of the TIME TRAVELING ROMANCE SERIES. I have such respect for both of these authors individually. As duo writers, all I can say is WOW!! They have a way of drawing the reader from the present into past worlds where every sense comes alive. I'm thrilled to give a huge shout out for this series because I'm unable to put their books down.

Here is a little peek of what you can expect.

The Other Side of Heaven, Book One of the Italian Time Travel Series

Californian Gwendolyn Godwyn seeks to learn her family’s history and hopes to restore the bond that once existed between her Italian forebearers and those who live in America. While visiting her ancestral Italian town, Gwen is caught in a violent earthquake and inexplicably thrust through time. At first refusing to believe what has happened, she nevertheless uses her wits to survive, donning a monk’s cowl to hide her identity as a woman. Ripped apart from all she has ever known, Gwen finds herself in the midst of brutal territorial battles in an era she once blithely called “The Dark Ages.” When the golden Italian summer of 951 emerges from the strife and gloom, Gwen joins forces with a cadre of gallant men, allies in the struggle against the evil nobles, Willa of Tuscany and Count Berengar, kidnappers of Italy’s rightful queen, Adelaide. Along with Father Warinus and Lord Alberto Uzzo, Gwen seeks to rescue Adelaide and restore her kingdom.

In the midst of this great adventure, Gwen falls in love with the complex and passionate Alberto, to whom she reveals her identity as a woman. But can Alberto learn to love her strong and independent nature and help Gwen in her quest to discover her rightful place in time?

Time Enough for Love, Book Two of the Italian Time Travel Series

Through dark magic, Californian Gwendolyn Godwyn has been swept back in time to medieval Italy. There, she finds herself in the midst of a war between Italy’s rightful queen, Adelaide, and those who have kidnapped her and seek to usurp her crown. Risking her life, Gwen elects to play a pivotal role in the planned rescue. In the midst of the chaos, she is drawn to the queen’s champion, Lord Alberto Uzzo, who battles not only their military foes, but also his personal demons. Tested to the limit when he discovers Gwen’s true identity as a time traveler, Alberto nevertheless fights through his doubt and the whirl of superstition that surrounds this intriguing and strong-willed woman. Time is of the essence as the lovers seek to overcome the evil forces rallying against the queen they’ve vowed to save. Will Gwen and Alberto be able to overcome the groundswell of danger to find time enough for love?

WELCOME HEATHER THURMEIER AND THE WEDDING HOAX

 Hi Everyone,

I'm so thrilled to have Heather Thurmeier with us today. Heather has just released a charming novel called THE WEDDING HOAX. I thought it would be fun to get to know Heather a little and hear what inspires her writing.

Heather has brought along a wonderful bracelet she would like to giveaway to one lucky winner. You can enter her contest at the end of this interview.

Heather, thank you again for dropping by for a visit. To start off this interview, tell us three things about yourself that readers may not know about you.

1. My favorite color is sparkly dark purple.
2. I have a weakness for handbags and cozy sweaters.
3. I’m a serious reality TV junkie. If I get control of the remote, it’s almost always on a reality show.

When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

I think there was a part of me that knew from about elementary school on, but I didn’t actually embrace it until I was an adult. For a long time I wanted to write, but didn’t have an idea for a story. Once that story idea came to me, I decided to give it a try and I was instantly hooked! I haven’t stopped since.

What do you like best about being a writer? What do you like the least?

I love the freedom to have my own schedule (within reason considering deadlines). I love having stories to tell that readers enjoy. And I love the creative outlet. I get to escape to another world when I sit down at my computer and it’s really fun. What I don’t like is that sometimes you have to have a really thick skin in this business. I’ve gotten really good with criticism really quickly and most of the time it doesn’t bother me, but every now and then, something stings. It’s those moments when I wonder if I’m in the right job or not. But I can’t imagine not writing so here I am with another book release to celebrate!

Criticism can really hit hard sometimes. A thick skin is a must. How do you think your life experiences have prepared you for a writing career?

When I was 16, I met and fell in love with my husband. At 21 I left my country (Canada), my family and my friends to move away with my man to the USA. Years later, we are still married, still happy and have a wonderful life here. All of those things helped me to know that anything is possible, including writing a book and getting it published.

If you had one take away piece of advice for authors, what would it be?

Just keep writing. Go for it and keep going for it even when it gets tough.

What genre(s) do you write in? Why?

I write romance—contemporary, new adult, and paranormal. I love giving my characters their happily ever after! However, I would one day like to write a mainstream adventure book! No plans just yet for that though.

Tells us about your newest book release, THE WEDDING HOAX.

THE WEDDING HOAX is part of Entangled Publishing’s new Lovestruck line and I’m super excited about it! Here’s the quick blurb:

Wedding gown designer Daisy Willows is desperate for an influx of cash to cover her mother’s homecare bills. With subscriptions to his father’s wedding magazine plummeting, playboy Cole Benton needs to find a way to stimulate sales, and fast. But then a renowned bridal show expo owner offers to bail them out—if they rekindle their failed relationship and plan the fake wedding of the century. Except, with all the ring shopping and kissing upon request, they’re having a hard time remembering that their big white wedding is a big white lie…

I know you have brought along a blurb and an excerpt. I'll post those wonderful teasers below this interview. Here is an interesting question I would like to get your opinion on. Do you believe writers are born to write or learn to write?

Both. I think there’s a little voice inside a writer that they’re born with. It’s that little voice that’s always whispering a story idea and pushing you to write it. But I also think that no matter how talented you are as a writer, there is always more to learn.

Now for a fun question. What is the theme song for THE WEDDING HOAX?

As you wrote the story, what music did you go back to time and time again?  I’m really not much of a music person. I listen to it in the car but I can’t write to it. Every time I try, I end up singing along and no words actually get written.

Before you leave us, what is up next for you?

Up next I’m not entirely sure. I’d love to write another contemporary romance. I also have plans to write the second book in my paranormal romance series Falling Stars. And I’d also love to start plotting that mainstream adventure idea I hope to write one day. I don’t know how I’m going to find time to complete all of those things, but I’ll try my best. 

Thank you so much for having me!!

It was my absolute pleasure, Heather. I can't wait to read THE WEDDING HOAX. I hope it sells off the shelves.

So as promised, here is the full book blurb for THE WEDDING HOAX

To save their companies, they’ll plan the fake wedding of the century...
Meet the bride...

Daisy Willows is a wedding dress designer who longs for her own happily-ever-after. In the meantime, she’s struggling to keep her business going even as she covers her mom’s increasing medical expenses. So when a bridal show expo owner offers to help her out, she can hardly say no. And all it takes is Daisy pretending she’s back with her playboy ex. And that they’re engaged...
Meet the groom...

Cole Benton works for his father’s bridal magazine, which is on the verge of downsizing. All he really wants is a crack at an outdoor lifestyle magazine, and if he has to fake-marry Daisy to make it happen, he’s definitely in. Now Daisy and Cole are playing up their fake engagement, shopping for rings, and even kissing upon request. All of which is makes it a whole lot harder to remember that their big white wedding is a big white lie...

Excerpt for THE WEDDING HOAX. Enjoy!!

Cole adjusted himself in the boutique chair as Daisy came out in yet another stunning dress. He didn’t think it was possible to be attracted to a woman in a wedding gown, but apparently it was.

And it was maddening.
Damn it. He didn’t want to be any more attracted to Daisy than he already was. At this point, he wanted her to walk down the aisle in a white garbage bag so he didn’t have to see the shape of her curves, teasing him about what he couldn’t have but also couldn’t stop thinking about.

Nor could he stop imagining those undergarments she’d mentioned to the women at the bridal show. Was Daisy wearing something sexy under all that white lace and satin, too? A push-up bra? A thong?

He sat forward and leaned his elbows on his knees, ignoring the ache in his groin at the thought of Daisy in a thong. He didn’t even have to use his imagination. An image
of her lying on her stomach across his bed came to mind. Her skin had been smooth under his fingertips as he traced the lace of her thong to where it disappeared between two luscious hills of milky-white flesh. She’d shivered beneath his touch when he’d caressed the tiny crease where her bottom met the backs of her thighs. And when he’d playfully smacked her ass, the apples of her cheeks weren’t the only spot on her body to blush as she’d rolled away from him, giggling and smiling seductively.

If he’d realized that would be one of his last moments with Daisy, he would have savored it more, prolonged his own enjoyment to push hers further. What he wouldn’t give to see that spark in her eyes when she was on the cusp of going over the edge again. Or the pink tinge in her cheeks as his tongue tasted her.

“Cole!” Daisy’s voice was sharp, piercing his thoughts and shattering the nice memory he was currently enjoying more than the present moment.

“That one is nice,” Cole said on instinct, forcing himself to focus on the dress she wore instead of what she might be wearing underneath it. This dress was similar to the others— sleeveless, white, satin and beads, and expertly hand-stitched. He’d never really given Daisy a lot of credit for her work before, but he should have. She was a master of her craft.

She put her hands on her hips. “That’s what you said about every dress so far. Are you even paying attention?”

No.

“I’m trying to, but you know how I feel about shopping.” He laid his head back and rubbed his eyes hard, hoping to erase the memory of Daisy’s thong from his brain long enough to get through this torture without a raging hard-on.

“How could I forget? You’re worse than taking a child shopping. At least with a kid you can give them a snack or a toy to keep them busy.”

“I could go for a snack.” He shrugged.

WELCOME BACK LONI LYNNE

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today, I'm thrilled to welcome back to my blog, my good friend and wonderful author, Loni Lynne. The last time she dropped by, she filled us in on her debut novel, WANTED: ONE GHOST. Here is the link if you missed it: http://bit.ly/1rBDT2W.

Loni is back to share the exciting news about her new novel,  IMMORTAL HEAT, the first book of the The Guardians of Dacia Series.

Here is a blurb for THE GUARDIANS OF DACIA SERIES.

Romania has been called the mystical land of paranormal beings and creatures of the night. Before the Romans conquered their land, Dacia was a mystical land of magic and folk-lore until one man and his army destroyed the closely woven fabric set by the gods between man and beast. Now, cursed by their gods over two thousand years ago, one immortal clan struggles to maintain their private world while still learning to live and protect their human brethren while their enemy seeks power to destroy the new world.
But as the clans face extinction, a new generation of Dacian blood emerges to unite the clans once more. The world as they know it may never be the same.

IMMORTAL HEAT

Dacian Historian…

Determined to study ancient Dacian folk lore abroad, Marilyn Reddlin’s plans are cut short when she is abducted by a dark haired stranger who insists she’s in danger. The only danger she’s in is losing herself to her abductor’s inexplicable seductive energy. Draylon Conier teaches her there is more to Romania than myth and fairy tales while sweeping her into a wild adventure of paranormal mystery and intrigue.

Dacian History…

Thousands of years trying to pay back a debt, Draylon Conier is finally able to do so. Sent to capture a young, American student who is in danger while in Romania, he just has to send her back home. Easy enough for him. Unfortunately, Marilyn Reddlin is determined to thwart his every attempt—even telepathy. But there is more to her than meets the eye and the closer he gets to her, the more danger she is in, not only from the ancient immortal Dacian clans he’s trying to protect her from, but also his own sexual need.

History just got a lot harder...

They must find out what connection Marilyn has to Dacian history before Draylon destroys her when she succumbs to Immortal Heat.

Loni brought along a wonderful excerpt to tease you until it's released on OCTOBER 6TH---IN JUST THREE DAYS!! Enjoy!

 Excerpt for IMMORTAL HEAT

The server rolled out a dessert tray, and Marilyn automatically possessed room for the piece of decadent Belgian-chocolate cake whispering her name. She couldn’t pass up the temptation. Besides, it was only a sliver of cake. She needed something to absorb all the wine. The rich chocolate would complement the merlot and appease her craving.

The first bite hit her taste buds with the smooth, sinful flavor of Belgian chocolate- ganache. Marilyn sighed blissfully and closed her eyes, allowing the sweetness to pleasure her senses as she dragged the fork through her lips to capture every last molecule of taste.

Upon opening her eyes she saw a man sitting at her table, staring at her. She inhaled a crumb of chocolate cake, setting her to cough. Marilyn tried to breathe as her eyes watered behind her spectacles. The man handed her the water goblet and their fingers touched. Trembling at the jolt of electricity shooting through her hand, Marilyn took a sip to clear her throat.

She picked up the subtle scent of the amber and musk she’d noticed in the airport. Was it him? Was he spying on her?

He didn’t blink. His electric blue gaze bore into her soul. Small tremors of the fear her mother had addressed for years came running back, but she sat immobilized, staring back at him.

Dressed all in black, his raven hair blended in with the black leather of his jacket and turtleneck shirt. Those blue eyes caught fire from the reflection of candle light between them. Little bubbles of sensual awareness boiled within her bloodstream, and her mouth went dry as if the cake she’d been eating left behind a sawdust residue. She tried to laugh away the nervousness, but what came out was more of a croak. “I think you have the wrong seat,” she said in broken Romanian.

“You have to leave,” he said.

He spoke in perfect, modern English with a hint of accent. She wasn’t sure what kind. You have to leave, her mind echoed. She shook her head at the distracting sound of his voice. Like the Belgian chocolate ganache, the thick tenor drizzled delicious intent that could make a woman fantasize about what that voice would sound like whispering rich, sweet words into her ear. She needed to stop drinking red wine. It made her think silly things.

What would her mother do in a situation like this? With the stiffened spine she’d learned from Diane Reddlin, she met his gaze—difficult as it was to look into his eyes without melting. “This is my table. You are the one who needs to leave.” She took another bite of her cake as if he weren’t there. Whether the cake was more acceptable to bite into than he was would be a matter of decorum, but she bet he would taste yummy.

Hands joined in a single fist planted on the table, he leaned forward until his face was mere inches from hers. He studied her every move as she ate. The intensity should have unnerved her, and yet a wine induced boldness hit her, coupled with a determination to put him in his place, whoever he was. His good looks and dark, sensual appeal could only mean trouble.

The flickering candlelight created shadows along his jaw line, making him appear even more mysterious. His elegant European nose flared, the muscles in his jaw flexed. The mixed scent of the aroma she’d been alerted to at the airport and leather from his jacket again hit her senses. As much as she tried to fight her feminine instincts, her inner woman wasn’t cooperating. Her nipples hardened, and a quiver started in her core. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

“You are in danger, Marilyn Reddlin. Leave now. . . before it’s too late.”
Those eyes penetrated straight through to her soul. She hoped to God he didn’t know what her body was saying. Then his words and the fact he’d just addressed her by her name hit her like a bucket of icy water. She shook off the strange enchantment.
“Who are you?  How do you know my name?”

“That’s my business. Now, leave Romania…tonight.”

Marilyn sat stunned, fighting the commanding lilt of his voice. There was an odd, suggestive pull. She fought it but he’d already left. She hadn’t seen him get up. But when she looked, he’d walked out of the restaurant into the hotel lobby towards the entrance.

A few moments later she grabbed his hand, halting him. His eyes flared up at her, and then down to where her hand had attached itself to his wrist. She stopped and realized she didn’t remember how she’d gotten from the table to being outside, trying to stop his departure. But here she was. They stared at each other for a moment, both astounded at the circumstances.

He jerked his hand from her touch and popped the collar on his jacket, glaring at her before walking away.

You will leave.

Did she just hear his voice in her mind or had he said that aloud? His back was to her, so she wasn’t sure. She shook her head to get the sound of his voice out of her senses. This was too bizarre.

Like hell I’ll leave, asshole, she thought while staring after him. Who did he think he was? Had her mother put him up to this?

Stopping dead in his tracks, he slowly turned around. Marilyn stood her ground, her hands fisted on her hips in defiance. Did she hear him curse? That was impossible, his lips hadn’t moved, and they were now a parking lot away from each other.

A logistics truck pulled up through the circular entrance of the hotel, blocking her view, before driving away. When the view was clear, her mystery man had disappeared into the night, leaving only the echo of his warning behind in her head. She walked back to the dining room puzzled over the man’s audacity.

She’d be damned before she turned tail and ran back home to Mama.

WHERE YOU CAN BUY IMMORAL HEAT

Here is a where you can find more about Loni Lynne. She is one of the sweetest women you will ever meet.

Born in north-central Michigan, Loni Lynne still loves the quiet woods, lakes and rivers in Otsego County and the Victorian era bay side houses of Little Traverse Bay. But after decades of moving around the country as a child and twenty-five years of marriage to her personal hero, she calls western Maryland her home.

Serving in the United States Navy didn’t prepare her for the hardest job ever, being a stay at home mom, to her two wonderful daughters. After years of volunteering as a scout leader, PTA officer, and various other volunteer positions, all while still writing snippets of story ideas, her husband decided it was time for her to put her heart to finishing a story. He gave her a laptop, portable hard drive and his blessings to have a finished manuscript, ready to be sent out to the masses in one year. He created a writing monster.

Immortal Heat was her first idea six years ago and has gone through many revisions since then. In the meantime another story took hold, Wanted: One Ghost and it became her first published book in 2013. Now with the help of her friends, family and friends of the romance writing community, she’s pursuing her love of telling stories written from her heart.
