Blurb:
Things aren't always what they seem, and this shopping mall Santa has a secret only true love can reveal.

Mackenzie's an out-of-work actress who takes a job as a shopping mall Santa to pay the rent. She fools everyone with her Santa drag, until the day Joe McBride walks into the mall. Joseph Timothy McBride - the real-life, got a soap opera gig and you saw him in Scream II actor. The only guy she ever really loved. Can Mack stay in character, or is it time to strip off the red coat and peel off the beard for good?

The Santa Drag is a 6,000 word short story about a Santa with a secret, stressed out parents in the mall, and one very handsome actor.

Excerpt:
A kid in my lap threatened to throw up, taking my full attention for several moments, and when I looked up again it was Joe’s turn. Maya gave him a way-too-friendly smile, which he returned with his standard, ‘yep, I’m handsome,’ grin. His kids stood behind him. The boy clearly thought he was too old for all this nonsense, and his sister was trapped in between the excitement of seeing Santa and her brother’s ennui.
“Come on, guys,” Joe said, tugging the boy forward with an arm around the shoulders. I paid strict attention to the kids. I did not want to look at his face or see the dimple in his chin.  He turned around to say something to Maya. I really didn’t want to look at his ass.
“Uncle Joe, this is so stupid,” the boy said. Uncle Joe. I almost jumped out of my chair. They must be his sister Kelly’s kids.
“Get over there, Saxton. We’re taking pictures for your mother’s Christmas present. Mabyn, you too.” Joe pushed his nephew in my direction. Saxton and Mabyn? Wow, Kelly must be seriously into her Irish heritage. Or something.
Saxton was dressed in a red and green striped soccer jersey and jeans, his longish brown hair slicked back behind his ears. Mabyn wore a green sweater and jeans, with her hair pulled back in a thick red braid. Joe had jeans on, too. I tried really hard not to notice how well they fit across his thighs.
“Uncle Joe, will you get us some ice cream after this?” Mabyn asked.
“If you smile pretty for the camera.”  Joe gave her a shadow of the grin that I remembered. She gave him a pretty decent grin in return, though her big front teeth overlapped and there was a gap where one eye tooth should have been. Braces must be coming soon.
“She wishes she could smile pretty,” Saxton sneered. Mabyn smacked him on the arm. “Ow, she hit me. She should get in trouble.”
I would have hit him harder.

With Joe standing so close, it was hard to remember that I was supposed to be Santa. I gave a half-assed “Ho-ho-ho,” which sounded strangled, even to me. He glanced over at me, and I accidently met his eyes. I looked away immediately, but not before I saw the flash. Not recognition, exactly, but interest. I could feel him watching me. “Ho-ho-ho.” It came out heartier this time. I was so not going to give myself away.

MY THOUGHT FOR TODAY

To all those that celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope your day is filled with laughter, family, great food and love. It doesn't matter what is on the table but who is around the table. I'm so very thankful for the love I have in my life. My dear family and friends ground me. My wonderful readers fuel my imagination.

I'm going to keep this short but I want to leave you with a quote my sister just sent me. It kind of wraps up how I hope I live my life.

“Do all the good you can.
By all the means you can.
In all the ways you can.
In all the places you can.
At all the times you can.
To all the people you can.
As long as ever you can.”

COVER REVEAL: IN THE SHADOW OF VENGEANCE

Happy Thursday, Everyone!!

I was going to post this fantastic news on the 22nd but I just can't wait any longer. The last book in my In the Shadow series, IN THE SHADOW OF VENGEANCE new cover is here.

http://blogspot.nancycweeks.com/p/s.html?B00Q7HFXBQ

I just love it! The art department at Crimson Romance nailed this cover. You will all understand the whole dock scene when you get a chance to read Noah McNeil and Elizabeth Merlot's wonderful happy-ever-after.

When will that be? IN THE SHADOW OF VENGEANCE will be released December 22, 2014 everywhere books are sold just in time for the holidays.

Several readers have asked me over the last year when was I going to write Noah's story. We all got a great introduction to this stubborn alpha male as Jared's twin brother in In the Shadow of Evil. We were ready to box the guy's ears for the way he treated Jared's love, Jennie McKenzie.

I saved Noah for last for a reason. His road to love isn't an easy one. Noah and Elizabeth go through so much to be together, but in the end, I guarantee you are going to love watching them fall in love.

Over the next four weeks, I'll be posting blurbs, excerpts and a couple interesting interviews. Don't tell Noah, but his brothers are begging to drop by for a visit. Noah gave Adam, Jared, Mac, and Jason such a hard time when they fell for their soul mate, that now it's pay back time. Who knows, I may get them all here for a little roast.

That's it for today. I hope you love the new cover as much as I do. Until next week, have a great weekend and please be nice to one another.

Hugs to all,

Nancy C. Weeks

COVER REVEAL LONI LYNNE'S DISTILLED SPIRITS

Hello everyone,

I'm very happy to have back on my blog my sweet friend,  Loni Lynne. Loni has dropped by today to give us a peak at the new cover for her next release, DISTILLED SPIRITS.

Drum roll please....

DISTILLED SPIRITS will be released on December 15th. Here is a short blurb:

Kings Mill, Maryland’s 200 year old, Old Town Tavern and Inn is in danger of being destroyed to make room for urban renewal. Residential tavern ghost, Millie Taylor is not about to take the news lying down. If anyone destroys her only home and sense of security, it will be over her dead body!

Tavern owner, Dave Rogers hires former vice cop Sean Lightfoot’s construction company to renovate his family tavern in hopes of keeping it from destruction. When Sean digs up the tavern springhouse, he resurrects the ghost of Millie Taylor. Now he has his business to run, a tavern to renovate and a sassy, brash tavern wench who is eager to be an independent modern Millie.

Mystery, suspense and romance abound as Millie and Sean fight an attraction crossing the span of time. But is Millie really alive and what’s hiding in the springhouse that haunts her?

Wow! I love a great ghost story. Add a sazzy, sexy ghost and an hot former cop and I'm sold. Can't imagine how they will ever come together, but I have no doubt Loni Lynne will keep me turning the page to find out. Loni was been kind enough to leave a excerpt/tease of DISTILLED SPIRITS. ENJOY!

Excerpt for DISTILLED SPIRITS.

Awake and shaken to his core Sean couldn’t control the tremors racing through his body. She’d been here, sitting beside him on the bed as if it were the most natural thing to do. Anyone watching him sleep would be creepy but especially a ghost—even one as beautiful as she was. She’d smiled, touched him. His hand went to his chest and he could swear she’d taken his heat with the touch of her fingers. Maybe he’d dreamed it. He’d fallen asleep sitting up, waking as he nodded off a few times—maybe he’d only dreamed she’d been here.

Grabbing the blankets tighter against him, he reached over to turn on the light, but with each click of the turnkey knob, there was no light. Damn! He must have blown the bulb. Had he left it on while he’d worked? In the dark he reached for his pad. It was there beside him.

Screw this. He stumbled out of bed, nearly tripping over the tangled covers around him. He searched for the light switch near the door, illuminating the whole room. She was definitely gone—if she’d been there at all. He rubbed the back of his neck. He must have fallen asleep. He’d been known to do that occasionally.

Walking to the bed he picked up the tablet. It had gone into sleep mode. Turning it on, it illuminated his earlier designs. He sat back down on the bed, studying his ideas. He’d enlarged the whole room’s interior to make a larger bathroom and more room for a queen sized bed. Some rooms would have tubs and others would have stand-up showers only.

New toilets and vanities—he stopped, looking at the outline of the single sink cabinet and the label. There over the “i” in the word vanity was a tiny daisy with five petals, the dot of the “i” its center.

There was no way in hell he’d done that. He did not make girly flourishes in his work, personal writing or ever.

“Millie.” His voice cracked with disbelief.

More on Loni Lynne...

Loni Lynne believes fate determines our lives and we are just along for the ride. Holding on tight, she's managed an eclectic life of moving all over the country in her youth, seeing sights and places her dreams still take her to every now and again. Writing stories since she was thirteen and dreaming of actually writing a book since that time, fate took over, giving her a chance to find material and experiences to write about.

Upon graduating high school, she served her country in the United States Navy where she met her United States Army hero/husband in his hometown of Annapolis, Maryland.

After being stationed in Hawaii for their first four years together, they returned to settle in Maryland where they still live, Happily Ever After with their two princesses, who prefer to play with dragons instead of running from them.

Four years ago, as a birthday gift, her husband gave her a portable hard drive, a membership to Romance Writers of America, and the challenge to have a completed manuscript by her next birthday. She did it and then some. Now, she can't stop writing.

MY THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Hi everyone,

I have been a little busy working on edits for the last book in my Shadow series and have had to ignore this space this week so I could meet my deadline. Today, I ran across a quote that seemed to really resonate with me and I hope you don't mind me sharing it here. This quote reminds me how important it is to let the people in our lives know how amazing they are.

"The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches,
but to reveal to him his own."

Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881);

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Enjoy the rest of your week and please be kind to one another.

Hugs to all,
